A travel and documentary photography series across the Great Rift Valley, Maasai Mara, Watamu, and Kilifi.
“Welcome home,” our driver said after we pulled over at a viewpoint of the Great Rift Valley.
Some of the oldest human remains have been found here, dating back millions of years.
It was a surreal feeling, thinking about where we’ve come from. Surreal, infuriating, and humbling. If we all come from the same place (and we’re ending up in the same place), why is there so much hate? So much indifference? We’ve forgotten where we come from the further we’ve gotten from home.
Maybe this is why travel is so important and impactful. As we meet other folks and learn their ways, we’re reconnecting with our past and building a better picture of ourselves. Understanding them is understanding us.
We’re coming home.
